Myebar.net is proud to announce that on Monday, May 7, 2012 after three years of collecting the finest local restaurants and bars throughout this great land we surpassed one million hits and topped 7,600 establishments.  Do we sound excited, you bet your ass we are!

Sunday December 16, 2012 marked the listing of our 8,000th location, The Station Square, a restaurant in Youngstown, Ohio as well as surpassing 1,600,000 hits.  We can do nothing but thank all of you who use our reference site.  We can also hope that we have been able to turn you on to some local bistro, bar or restaurant that has satisfied your palate.  We are humbled that so many have come, we hope, to trust our recomendation of local dining spots all across the USA and now a few in Ireland and England!

Myebar.net is the brainchild of two road comedians who love local flavor and found it very difficult to find local restaurants on the road.  Any time they would ask front desk clerks in their hotels where they could find some place local to grab some grub they were almost inevitably pointed in the direction of the local embodiment of a chain or franchise restaurant.   Sigh.   Where is the local flavor?

So they started to collect their favorite local joints and pass them around to other road dogs who in turn traded their favorite places back to us.  Big, fat bellies ensued, smiling faces, pleasantly contented little road dogs laying insensate in their hotel rooms.  Hey, why not tell everybody about these places and find some more.  Hell, let’s find all the great local restaurants we can throughout all United States and build a monument to them!!  So, here it is; a work in progress.  We now boast over 8,000 locations in more than 490 towns, cites and burghs throughout all fifty states. (and now a few in Galway, Kenmare and Dublin, Ireland as well as a few in London)

We have attempted to find all pertinent facts on all of our locations, hours, menu, maps, and specialties, whatever we can find.  Every restaurant, bar and nightclub on this site has been painstakingly researched, it is a place that we personally have been to or recommended by one of our patrons.  We search out quality of food, service and atmosphere.  We are looking for an experience, good food with bad service is not a good night out, good service with bad food and creepy crawly things is not a good night out.  We are not saying a joint will never have a bad night but the odds are in your favor here.  We search so you don’t have to, aren’t we nice guys??

 No establishment gets on the site without our approval.  You will note some locations have reviews some do not, this is not to say one is better than another it is just the information we could find, every establishment on this site is here because it is one of the best we could find.  We use YELP!, Urbanspoon, Tripadvisor and Google as references as well, as we think these are the best sites for real people to post their thoughts and we have found them to be the most accurate.  Please use them as well. 

This is as close to guaranteeing the food, service, experience as we can get.  All establishments on this site are here because we handpicked them not because they paid to be here, you cannot pay to be on this site.  So there!!

The Wine Wizard by Bob 'Bear' Marks It is with deepest regret that we inform you that our dear friend and wine guy Bob "Bear" Marks Passed away Friday August 5, 2011 He will be sorely missed, he was loved, cherished and valued as a very dear friend, a decent human being and a giving and loving person.  I wish I could say more but my heart is breaking right now.
