4/5/2010 1 photo I get to T.City 3 times a year for work and a stop to Don's is a have to! The burgers are great and you get a load of fries. I don't know how they do it but you gotta have one of these burgers! The kids meal comes in a cardboard car that's super cool. and the shakes are outta site. Can you say Traverse city Cherry Capitol and Don's the king of cheery shakes. If you lucky you Might even run into Flo I haven't seen her in a while I hope shes still there.

7/28/2010 First, let me just say I have been eating Don's hamburgers and drinking their milkshakes since I have had teeth to consume them with. That being said, I will do my best to write an honest review of my favorite burger joint of all time.
This place is a Northern Michigan icon, and if it is your first time you are required to get a real fruit cherry malt/shake (your crazy if you don't get a malt). To be fair, I usually order the chocolate one but any flavor they have is going to be insane. Thick, fresh, creamy, and made to order=perfection.
Now to the burgers...If your feeling like a man v. food situation, I would challenge you to order the Big D. But if you are trying continue your day without a food coma, just order the 1/4 lb. Its plenty big. I order mine medium rare because after 15 odd years of eating here I have noticed they have a tendency to overcook the meat a bit.
Also, I always order a side of their deep fried breaded mushrooms. They are some of the most delicious morsels on earth. They are accompanied by a great ranch dressing that makes for a match made in heaven. The fries are steak cut and are also pretty good. It would be a veteran move to order them well done.
This place has an amazing 50s decor, complete with waitresses in pink uniforms, and the service has always been great. If your in the mood for a burger don't waste your time anywhere else!

10/29/2009 Really Good Burger and Load of Fries!
I really like burgers and this is a nice burger! I love to make the trip over to Don's when I'm in town during the summer! It is a fun casual greasy spoon with good burgers in a good ol' fashion diner atmosphere!
