May 4, 2010 Based on a recent mention in Food and Wine Magazine we decided to have dinner at Cook's House. We are so glad we did. It is a tiny, tiny place--I think it seats about 20 people. They do not serve wine but there's a good wine store across the street.
The food is almost all locally sourced. The chef is cooking just a few feet from where you sit and is a most pleasant fellow. The only server (who I think is the chef's wife) is a delight and is very knowledgeable.
This is not a fancy place with lots of bells and whistles but is a comfortable spot for outstanding cooking and extremely pleasant service.

Jan 11, 2010 I've been going to the Cook's house since they opened in early 2008 (I believe). I've been there for lunch, dinner, private parties and most recently New Years eve. The menu and food is always top notch. All the food is fresh and local so the tastes and falovors of the cuisine are phenomenal. The restaurant itself is very small and intimate. I constantly find myself trying new things on the menu and have yet to find something I do not love. If you haven't been here yet, its a must when in TC.
